Can I have extra days if needed?
Parents who require additional or extra care days should request these from the Director. Extra days/casual care days will be available dependent on vacancies and will be charged at the family’s normal daily rate.
Can I visit my child whenever I like?
We welcome our parents to visit the centre at any time throughout the day. Your contribution to the daily activities is highly valued.
Do you have a Kindergarten program?
Yes, the centres 4 year qualified Early Childhood Teacher implements an Approved Queensland Government Kindergarten Program.
Do you toilet train children?
Yes, we definitely toilet train your children, and work closely with parents in this endeavour.
How much notice do I need to cease care?
If you wish to cease care, you are required to provide two weeks written notice.
Is there a minimum weekly booking?
No, however we recommend two days a week. There is a two day minimum for the Queensland Approved Kindergarten Program for the kindergarten aged children. This gives the child the opportunity to experience a range of fun, educational activities and better prepares them for school life.

You will also need to contact Centrelink (13 61 50) to check your eligibility and to register for CCS payments. This will determine your weekly gap fee. Fees are to be paid two (2) weeks in advance.
What do I need to bring?
Please ensure items you bring to our centre are clearly labelled with your child’s name:
Spare clothes 1 – 2 sets (include undies and socks).
Sun safe clothing (Singlet tops and strappy dresses do not provide adequate sun protection, these are discouraged).
Bed sheets for rest time in a rest time bag.
A bag for belongings that your child can undo and do up.
Nappies – children will need at least 5 nappies named per day.
Comforter that your child may need.
What happens on public holidays?
Normal fees will apply.
What happens when my child’s educator is away?
We have a bank of casual educators available to cover full time staff's annual leave or sick days. You will recognise these educators as they fill various roles each week at our centre.
What if I am late picking up my child?
If your child is not collected by 6:15 pm you will be a charged a late fee.
What if my child is absent or on holidays?
Please notify the centre by 8am if your child is going to be absent. Holiday notice requires 2 weeks notice to receive a discounted rate.
What if my child is sick?
The best place for a sick child is home, receiving one-on-one care and we ask that you keep your child home if they are unwell. This helps reduce the spread of infection to other children and educators. If your child becomes ill during the day, we will contact you to collect your child.
What is the orientation procedure?
We understand that for children, who join us at Kindamindi, it may be their first experience away from home and some children may feel uncertain about starting a new experience in a new environment. As all children are unique, so too are their settling in patterns. We are happy to meet your child’s individual needs and provide orientation strategies designed for you and your child.
When do children move to other rooms?
They progress when they are developmentally ready in all areas, so there is often an overlap of age groups in each classroom. As we have strict limits of maximum numbers of children in each classroom, sometimes moving up is also limited to spaces being available in the next level room.
Will I be charged if my child is away sick?
Yes, normal fees will apply.
