Vision

Kindamindi Child Care Centre has a vision of learning which has been influenced from The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia.

We are committed to the safety and well being of children and provide protection of children.  We believe a high quality, safe and supportive learning environment will be provided for every child.  We provide an environment that is designed to foster children’s learning and development, an environment where children can be involved and build confidence.  We believe that all children are equal. We recognise individual personalities, preferences and backgrounds.

We believe each child is recognised as an individual and learns at their own pace through play and hands on interactions with peers, adults, experiences and materials.  We believe in the value of learning through play.  We believe childrens individual needs and interests are met on a daily basis through the implementation of the negotiated emergent curriculum.  We believe the focus of learning through play will encompass all areas of development, as well as a strong emphasis on the development of independence and self help skills.

We respect diversity by honouring the background, cultures, traditions, languages, child rearing practices and lifestyle choices of families.  We will provide opportunities for learning about different cultures from around the world.

We believe staff praise the children’s improvement, reinforce and model appropriate behaviour in a positive manner and encourage positive social interactions.

We believe that the routines are flexible, yet regular so that children feel comfortable and secure in knowing what is expected of them.

We respect parents and families as a child’s first teacher and we will endeavour to always create a welcoming environment where all children and families are respected, valued and encouraged to give input on our program.  We believe that it is important that we understand each other’s expectations, attitudes and share mutual respect and knowledge.

We believe positive community involvement is essential to a child’s learning journey.  We promote care and respect of the natural environment, by encouraging sustainability practices.  We also provide educational opportunities in partnership with community organisations i.e fire brigade, police ambulance life guards, snake handlers, ocean life educators.
